Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

The role is a mix of working in a standard support queue and helping out on all things for the day-to-day billing. 

You’ll work independently, have complete ownership of your work, and have an outsize impact. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with other departments to ensure all sales are accurately billed, setting clients up for billing, issuing invoices, and coming up with ways to improve the processes and implementing them. This role is also unique in that you’ll own Accounts Payable and their vendor relationships from a finance perspective, and not just Accounts Receivable.

The role will also work directly with customers to solve technical problems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Billing Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing all billing procedures and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Preparing, issuing, and sending invoices (in Stripe).
  • Reviewing invoices and sales sheets to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Reconciling invoices with balance sheet reports and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Communicating with clients and other departments, resolving issues, and providing clarifications.
  • Ensuring clients' billing accounts are set up correctly and according to their requirements.
  • Following up on past due invoices 
  • Maintaining updated records of accounts receivable and payable.
  • Verifying the accuracy of accounts payable and pay our bills on time. 
  • Preparing reports and meeting billing deadlines.

Support Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with customers to solve technical problems
  • Test solutions and resolve issues when other team members are not available 

Skills/Qualifications:

Billing Analyst:

  • Previous experience as a Billing Analyst or in a similar Finance role
  • Proficiency with data entry is a must-have, as are basic Excel skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, and comfortable talking with customers directly.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and pitching in with other projects as needed

Support:

  • At least 2 years of experience in technical support, working directly with customers to solve technical problems
  • Comfortable testing solutions and resolving issues when other team members are not available 
  • Experience supporting SaaS tools
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and pitching in with other projects as needed

Highly advantageous but not required:

  • Expertise in Stripe
  • Salesforce knowledge
  • Experience and past success in a remote position
  • Experience with supporting other email products a plus
  • Knowledge in any account and billing software such as Xero or Netsuite
