Our client is a far from a typical Dinosaur Accounting Firm. They are an Outsourced Accounting Firm who service an innovative Australian firm that pride themselves on outstanding culture and better communication both internally and towards their clients.

Their purpose, is to assist small businesses to excel in their industry by implementing processes and procedures to streamline their accounting and administration and help them understand the story of their business within their figures.

They assist all businesses from startups to those that are established to help create a structured strategy, tailored to your business.

Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

As the Team Manager, your role is to manage and oversee the daily operations, ensure accuracy and completeness of the reports, and manage and mentor the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the team’s workflow to ensure deadlines are met
  • Reviewing financial statements, tax returns and business activity statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Mentor and develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
  • Researching and providing technical advice on complex accounting matters
  • Corresponding with the team in Australia to provide updates on workflow 
  • Reviewing processes and looking for ways in which to improve them



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or any equivalent
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
  • At least 3 years’ experience working for an  Australian outsourced accounting firm
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization
  • Strong working experience in Microsoft Excel and Xero
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
  • Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques

Advantageous but not required:

  • Preferably a CPA license holder
  • Knowledgeable with Xero Tax, Xero Workpapers, Xero, QBO, and other relevant accounting software systems

Job type: Permanent

Emp type: Monday to Friday, with a flexible work schedule. Can start as early as 6:30am to 8:30am (Except for Monday and Friday, you are required to be in the office at 7:30am for a meeting)
